Context
This project is part of a regional planning initiative for the management of solid household waste in Cameroon’s smaller cities.
It aims to provide local authorities and national authorities with practical tools to organise, fund and deploy waste sorting infrastructure, whilst establishing local waste collection and recovery systems.
The project is led by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MINHDU), which is responsible for ensuring the consistency of urban policies, providing strategic guidance, coordinating between institutions and supporting local authorities in implementing appropriate waste management solutions.
