Nature Energy

2022 – 2023

France

The SECALIA project aims to process nearly 200,000 tonnes per year of energy crops (CIVE) and agricultural by-products in order to produce biomethane that can be injected into the natural gas network.

Developed by Nature Energy in partnership with the Dijon Céréales co-operative, the project brings together 155 farmers committed to an agroecological transition that promotes soil cover, improves soil fertility and reduces the use of input materials. The digestate produced by the process is utilised locally as an organic soil improver, helping to return organic matter to the soil and contributing to the development of a circular agricultural economy.

setec énergie environnement supported Nature Energy in the construction of the SECALIA anaerobic digestion plant through the following projects:

  • Assistance in drafting the dossiers for consultation of companies for the Civil Engineering – All State Bodies (GC TCE) lot;
  • Definition, qualification and control of studies for the GC TCE lot (terracing, civil engineering, R&R, fire protection, building electricity, plumbing);
  • Monitoring the progress of the works;
  • Assistance with site management and the phasing of works, in coordination with the process contractors;
  • Technical support to the developer throughout the construction phase;
  • Management of the interfaces between civil engineering structures and industrial anaerobic digestion plant.
Challenge

The construction of a methane production unit of this scale requires close coordination between civil engineering works, networks, process equipment and the various stakeholders involved in the project.

The mission’s objective was to secure all phases of consultation, studies, and work while ensuring the perfect integration of infrastructure and industrial equipment.
