The context and challenges

Grenoble Alpes Métropole’s project involves building a new selective waste sorting centre with a capacity of 51,000 tonnes per year at the Athanor site in La Tronche, near Grenoble (38). The aim of the project is to adapt to changes in waste production in the Grenoble area and is both ecologically and technologically ambitious.

The benefits
The new centre will process more materials thanks to the 26 sorting stages, including 12 optical sorting processes, and the robot that will search for the smallest recyclable elements, with the aim of improving the quality of sorting and adapting to the ever-increasing demand for recycling.
Mission

Setec énergie environnement is mobilising an expert, multidisciplinary team and is acting as general contractor for the PAPREC / DHA / ARTELIA / SWS consortium, responsible for the following services:

  • Participating actively in the development of the site’s design, incorporating technical elements arising from operating requirements, the construction of the building and the construction of the sorting process.
  • Project Manager. Designing the synthesis of the 3D building and process models. Managing interfaces between Building and Process
  • Preparation of the Environmental Impact Assessment file (case-by-case and application form), analysis of regulatory requirements and modelling of heat flows in the event of a fire
  • Fire project management (design, drafting of tender documents, awarding of contracts, monitoring of works, etc.)
  • Verification of process studies
  • Monitoring overall planning
  • Leading internal meetings within the consortium and meetings with the project owner
  • Document management for the entire project
  • Financial management for the entire project
