Commune of Dinard

2017-2025

Dinard, FRANCE

The city of Dinard has launched an operation to dredge its port in order to restore navigation conditions and ensure the safety of users. The project concerned the access channel, the two port quays, the areas around the breakwater, as well as the area under the pontoon. An extension of the northern quay was also planned in order to improve access conditions and the operation of the port infrastructure.

These works aimed to restore the water channels necessary for maneuvering, docking, and maintaining port activities, while ensuring appropriate management of sediments in a sensitive coastal environment.

The city of Dinard entrusted setec énergie environnement with the overall project management, from the preliminary studies to the final acceptance of the works.

setec énergie environnement provided all the studies and services necessary for the preparation, authorization and execution of the dredging operation.

The scope of our mission included the following objectives:

  • Preliminary studies: bathymetry and sedimentological diagnosis (analysis, granulometry…) and benthic fauna;
  • regulatory studies to obtain work permits;
  • an AMO regarding the characterization of the immersion site, including consultation with users, in particular fishermen;
  • pre-project studies to specify the technical dredging solution and the sediment management solution;
  • of a complete project management (ACT, DCE, VISA, DET, AOR) for the operation.
Challenge

Balancing the needs to maintain port activities with the environmental and regulatory requirements associated with dredging in coastal areas, while ensuring the management of sediment and the adherence of the territory’s stakeholders.
