ENGIE

2026 – 2030

Versailles, FRANCE

The heat network of the City of Versailles is currently powered by a gas/oil central heating plant. As part of the renewal of the public service delegation, the future operator must undertake a major transformation of the energy mix by integrating renewable and recovered energy (RE&R), including deep geothermal energy, in order to reduce the carbon footprint of the network. To meet these decarbonization and diversification objectives, the project envisages a deep transformation of the existing installations, structured around the following operations:

  • Complete modernization of the existing gas boiler and transition to low pressure,
  • creation of a deep geothermal power plant integrated into the existing building, using two double-pipe systems at Dogger and heat pumps,
  • demolition of the current installations (oil tanks, cogeneration, gas boilers, electrical installations and associated equipment).

Our client entrusted us with the complete Master Plan (MOE) for this project. We are carrying out this mission with the assistance of subcontractors. HISA Engineering and seven buildings:

  • Management of all phases of studies: APS, APD, PRO, DCE/ACT and of the execution phases: VISA, SYN, DET, OPC AOR on all process lots, civil engineering and dismantling;
  • Technical interfaces with other MOE missions (not carried out by setec énergie environnement): MOE underground (geothermal drilling) and MOE networks (extensions in Versailles and Satory);
  • Assistance with ICPE procedures and the Building Permit.
Challenges

Integrating a new geothermal power plant and modernizing the gas heating plant within an existing site in operation, while ensuring the continuity of the public heating service and coordinating multiple technical and regulatory interfaces.
