SYCTOM

2015 – 2024

Saint Ouen, France

In 2012, the SYCTOM The company has commissioned a feasibility study to consider the requalification of the flue-gas treatment at the Saint-Ouen UVE plant. During the studies, the chosen scenario was to replace the wet flue-gas treatment system with a dry treatment system while maintaining the existing catalytic NOx (SCR) system.

Taking advantage of this project to modify the treatment of fumes, SYCTOM also wished to optimize the energy recovery of its unit by recovering the calories contained in the fumes.

This project is characterized by high complexity: a large-capacity facility (600,000 tons/year), located in the heart of a dense urban area (ZAC des Docks), with continuous operational activities alongside two other major operations (industrial effluents and urban integration of the site).

SYCTOM entrusted us with the complete Master Plan (MOE) for this project, in collaboration with Ingévalor :

  • Design and commissioning of three new flue-gas treatment lines and a common energy recovery system;
  • Execution of administrative and regulatory procedures;
  • Implementation of innovative energy recovery solutions: ORC turbine, optimization of steam production and capture of fatal energy through condensation of fumes for valorization into the CPCU’s heat networks;
  • Coordination and on-site intervention during operation without interruption of operation;
  • Launch of a CO₂ capture pilot to contribute to the site’s decarbonization.
